AGRI-DRONE: Agri-Drone Pilots for Tomorrow

The problem

Precision agriculture training in Europe is fragmented and often too expensive for young rural workers. Drone-based crop monitoring can cut water and chemical use sharply, but the skills to use it safely and legally are not taught in most vocational systems.

What the project builds

• A standardised 40-hour VET module, "Agri-Drone Basics for Sustainable Farming", combining EASA-aligned operational safety with practical precision-agriculture techniques.
• A lightweight, open-source Web Mission Log & Checklist for digital flight planning and risk assessment.
• Four local pilot trainings for 40–48 VET learners and young farmers, including one hosted by Minerva in Adana.
• Four public "Drone Demo Days" showing how precision agriculture reduces water and chemical use.
• Open educational resources published in four languages, mapped to EQF learning outcomes.

Minerva's role

Minerva is the consortium's Turkish agri-tech partner. We contribute the thematic design of the curriculum, translating precision-agriculture expertise into a replicable, EQF-mapped training package. We also host the Turkish pilot in Adana, connecting the project with local farmers and cooperatives. In line with where our role ends, the drone flight operations themselves are delivered by qualified operators, not by Minerva.
